Rabat – A government council meeting is scheduled for Thursday, chaired by the head of government, Aziz Akhannouch, according to a statement from his office.

The meeting will commence with a presentation by the Minister of Justice on the initial report regarding the implementation of the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance, alongside the fifth periodic report on the implementation of the Convention against Torture.

Following this, the Minister of Economy and Finance will deliver a presentation on significant new developments to be introduced in the law concerning credit institutions and similar organizations. The discussion will also cover amendments to the Statute of Bank Al-Maghrib aimed at addressing potential crises within credit institutions.

The council will then review two draft decrees. The first decree focuses on determining the types and amounts of scholarships for boarding schools and school canteens within public education institutions, along w
ith the eligibility criteria. The second decree proposes amendments to the existing decree on the establishment of the National Grand Prize for the press.

The meeting will conclude with the council examining proposals for appointments to senior positions, in accordance with Article 92 of the Constitution.
