SAUDI, UAE, QATARI COMPANIES READY TO INVEST IN SUDAN’S MINING SECTOR
KHARTOUM, -- Companies from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar have expressed willingness to invest in Sudan's mining sector during extensive consultations conducted by the Sudanese Ministry of Minerals with the companies concerned.
Minister of Minerals Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Sadiq Al-Karuri, who meting the company officials here Wednesday, expressed his full support to the Arab and Gulf investors wishing to invest in the country's mining sector.
He stressed that his ministry would help them in overcoming all difficulties which might be faced in making investments in Sudan and said conditions were favorable for entry to the mining sector as all procedures could be handled at one place through the Ministry's single-window facility here.
The minister emphasized the non-existence of restrictions on exports of gold mined in Sudan by all companies in this sector and that companies are allowed to export all the gold they produced.
Dr. Al-Karuri also affirmed his full support for all Qatari mining projects in Sudan, explaining that the Ministry would help ensure the appropriate atmosphere for Qatari investments in mining in Sudan after the sector became the most attractive for investments and a major pillar of the economy.
