PLANE LANDS SAFELY AT KHARTOUM AIPORT AFTER FALSE WARNING OF BOMB ON BOARD
KHARTOUM, A Boeing 737 aircraft carrying 120 passengers and eight crew landed safely here Wednesday morning after a warning was received that it was carrying a bomb on board, the spokesman of Khartoum International Airport, Mohamed Al-Mahdi Nasr-Eddin Abdoun, said.
He told the media that the Control Tower at the airport had stated that it had received a false message from an unknown person that there was was bomb on board the aircraft which was coming to Khartoum from Nyala in southwestern Sudan, about 900 kilometres away.
The Control Tower then called for the emergency measures to be taken and in place for the plane to land.
After the plane landed, it was subjected to a search, which revealed no real security threat.
