Khartoum Agricultural Foundation allocates SDG 35 million to fund the 1,500 beneficiaries

Khartoum, March 16 (SUNA) – The Director-General of Khartoum Governmental Agricultural Foundation for Microfinance Mohamed Al-Tayib Mohamed has announced that the foundation has earmarked 35 million pounds to fund 1,500 beneficiaries.
He said, in a statement to SUNA, that the funding ceiling for a beneficiary ranged between 15,000 and 20,000 pounds, adding that the foundation obtained financing at a limit of 5 million pounds from the Central Bank of Sudan.
Mohamed stressed that the funding would focus on agricultural and livestock industries, revealing that a memorandum of understanding was signed with the Ministry of Social Affairs in Khartoum State to finance the economically active youth and rural women, adding that the last year, 2015, was the base year for the beginning of the foundation activity where the funding volume reached two million pounds.
