International Economics Department, UK Trade Policy Observatory

EU policies have directly influenced UK food supplies and prices, the profitability of farm businesses, and the rural environment and land use, in many ways. It is uncertain how these things will be addressed post-Brexit. This is particularly so the UK does not start with a blank sheet of paper – various political, financial, and international constraints through the rules of the World Trade Organization will apply to future UK agriculture policies post-Brexit. This event will discuss existing and continuing support for farm businesses and the rural environment and the UK’s future agri-food trade relations options post-Brexit.

The event will take the format of a presentation, followed by an open discussion.

The UK Trade Policy Observatory  is a partnership between Chatham House and the University of Sussex. The observatory provides independent expert comment on, and analysis of, trade policy proposals for the UK as well as training for British policy-makers and negotiators through tailored training packages.

Attendance at this event is by invitation only.

To register for this event, please contact Charlotte Humma, Research Communications Coordinator, School of Business, Management and Economics, University of Sussex.
