Doha: The Arab-Islamic Emergency Summit commenced Monday in the Qatari capital, Doha, with the participation of President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, alongside leaders and heads of Arab and Islamic states.
According to Sudan News Agency, the summit deliberated on the repercussions of the Israeli aggression against Qatar and ways to strengthen joint Arab and Islamic solidarity in confronting the challenges facing the region. General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan delivered Sudan’s address during the summit.
His Highness the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, inaugurated the summit, welcoming the participating leaders and condemning the treacherous attack launched by Israel against Qatar. He stated that ‘the whole world was shocked by the aggression and cowardly terrorist act,’ pointing out that the Israeli war on Gaza has turned into a war of extermination.
The Emir of Qatar reaffirmed his country’s determination to take all necessary measures to preserve its sovereignty and confront the Israeli aggression, stressing that Israel’s extremist government is simultaneously pursuing racist terrorist policies.
