WES governor donates a car to CID to combat crime
Western Equatoria State governor Alfred Futuyo Karaba last week donated a Double Cabin vehicle to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Yambio to aid combat crime.
Speaking on behalf of the governor, Bri. Gen. Bakhata Francis, a senior SPLA-IO Commander in the state said the local government is working to strengthen security and protect civilians.
“What is needed is that the SPLA-IO, SSPDF, and any other person, should all work for peace in our state and the safety of our citizens. And anyone, even the SPLA-IO who commits a crime should be arrested,” he added.
The CID Director in Yambio, Ping Majak appreciate the governor’s gesture and said it would go a long way to improve security in the town.
“We want to give thanks to our governor for the car. If we don’t use it well, then it’s upon us the governor has done his part,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Police commissioner in Western Equatoria State James Mande Enoka urged the CID officers to use the car for its main purpose and communities to aid the police and CID by reporting crimes in good time.
