Ukraine extends sanctions on import from Russia

Restrictions prolonged until end of 2017
Ukraine has extended the sanctions on the import of production and commodities from Russia. These measures are a mirror response to the same restrictions, imposed by Moscow, Interfax reports.
The sanctions will be active until the end of 2017, according to the decision, approved by Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers on June 6, 2016.
The trade war between Ukraine and Russia sparked in 2016. On January 1 Moscow announced the suspension of the Free Trade Zone between the two countries and introduced the ban on import of Ukrainian goods.
As the Kremlin explained, the decision was made due to the Association agreement between Ukraine and the EU, which had come into force on the same day.
Kyiv has repeatedly called Russia’s actions a violation of the World Trade Organization rules.
