Two students brutally butchered by North Darfur abductors
Residents of Saraf Omra in North Darfur have reacted with horror and anger after the bodies of two young students were found stabbed to death in the open near the town on Friday morning.
Shamseldin Osman (13) and Yahya Mahmoud (16), were reportedly abducted on Tuesday evening while they were driving the family's rickshaw back from the weekly market in Saraf Omra.
A primary school teacher, Mohamed Mukhtar, told Radio Dabanga that a local rescue team accompanied by the Sudanese army found the bodies of the two students, at Gadel Habob, north of Saraf Omra. The teacher confirmed that the two students had been stabbed to death and their bodies dumped in the open.
One man, who was arrested while he was trying to sell the rickshaw of the dead students, reportedly confessed to his part in the kidnapping gang. The local rescue team began tracking-down the rest of the murderers on Friday morning based on this confession.
