TSC Vice-President Engages German Envoy on Sudan’s Stability Efforts.

Portsudan: Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Commander Malik Aggar, has underscored Sudan’s commitment to achieving peace, alleviating the suffering of its citizens, and embracing initiatives that promote security, stability, and sovereignty, while preserving the dignity of the Sudanese people. This statement was made during his meeting with the German envoy to the Horn of Africa, Heiko Nitschke, at his office in Portsudan on Monday.

According to Sudan News Agency, His Excellency expressed gratitude for Germany’s significant role in supporting the Sudanese people and its steadfast backing of the Sudanese government. The meeting highlighted discussions on the humanitarian and political climate, the advancement of humanitarian aid operations, and the politicization of these efforts by certain international and regional organizations.

The TSC Vice-President provided an overview of the violations and atrocities perpetrated by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia. He criticized the
militia’s misleading portrayal of its actions as democratic, pointing out that the conflict had devolved from claims of fighting Islamists and advocating for democracy into an ethnic war impacting the Masalit and other Sudanese tribes.

Further, the meeting addressed the Sudanese government’s roadmap for resolving the ongoing crisis, alongside international and regional stances, and the shift in perspective from some regional nations regarding the war. Commander Aggar emphasized the government’s dedication to maintaining Sudan’s stability, unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, while preventing any form of occupation.
