SUDAN’S RAPID INTERVENTION FORCE SEIZE 85 KG OF GOLD FROM SMUGGLERS

KHARTOUM, A unit of Sudan's Rapid Intervention Forces (RIF) has apprehended two gold smugglers trying to sneak 85 kilogrammes of the previous metal from Sudan to a neighbouring country.

Colonel Abdul Rahyaman Jaali, the official spokesman for the RIF, said the unit, deployed along Sudan-Chad border, arrested two gold smugglers as they were taking the 85 kg of gold out of the country on Monday.

He said the RIP remained vigilant against those seeking to sabotage the national economy through smuggling. He said the forces were fully securing the border areas between the Sudan and Chad.
