Sudan's Council of Ministers (Cabinet), at a meeting chaired by First Vice-President and Federal Prime Minister Lieutenant-General Barki Hassan Salih, has been briefed on the recent attack mounted against the western Sudan region of Darfur, with a support coming from Libya and South Sudan, and with the support of the Egyptian government.

The report presented to the Cabinet here Thursday by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Professor Ibrahim Ghandour, pointed out that evidence of the involvement of foreign hands has been presented to Egyptian President Abdul Fatah al-Sisi, and he said the proofs were strong and evident and that the Egyptian president had directed the relevant authorities to probe the matter.

Prof Ghandour has said it was also agreed that meetings between the relevant bodies in Sudan and Egypt be held regularly to discuss details of relations between Sudan and Egypt in pursuit of the strategies ties linking the two neighbouring countries.
