SUDANESE PRESIDENT SAYS VISIT BY BELARUS COUNTERPERT TO BOOST BILATERAL TIES
KHARTOUM, Sudanese President Omer Al-Basher has affirmed that the visit of President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus to Sudan will contribute to the development of bilateral relations which have been supported through the setting up of effective mechanisms to follow up the implementation of a number of agreements signed by the two countries and by other joint programmes and projects.
Addressing the inaugural session of the Sudanese-Belarusian talks at the Presidential Palace here Tuesday, chaired by the presidents of the two countries, he referred to the provision of the political will to strengthen and develop trade and economic relations between the two sides.
He said the signing of the Friendship and Co-operation Agreement between the two countries, constituted a legal framework for the existing cooperation, while expressing a welcome to Belarusian businessmen and companies to invest in Sudan and benefit from the promising opportunities available.
The President directed the concerned circles and institutions in Sudan to provide the special necessary facilities for Belarus in this regard.
President Al-Basher expressed Sudan's appreciation to Belarus for the stance to support Sudan on regional and international issues, and lauded the efforts being exerted by the Joint Ministerial Committee and the Political Consultation Committee between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs in the two countries as well as exchanges of visits, at all levels, which had contributed to strengthening of friendship and co-operation between the two countries in all domains.
The President also referred to the close co-operation between Sudan and Belarus in military and security fields, while affirming his keenness to foster such in future.
