SUDANESE PRESIDENT PROMOTES LARGE NUMBER OF JUDGES

KHARTOUM, April 6 (NNN-SUNA) -- President Omar al-Bashir has issued a decree pomoting a large number of Sudanese judges, including a number of judges who are elevated from the Court of Appeal to the Supreme Court.

Another two judges from the General Court were promoted to the Court of Appeal, while 95 first class judges were promoted to public judges, 86 second degree judges to first class judges and 56 third degree judges to second degree judges.

A total of 148 judicial assistants were also promoted to third degree judges.

Chief Justice Maulana Haidar Ahmed Dafallah congratulated the judges and called for intensified judicial work and the development of the judicial process, which will contribute to the stability of the judiciary. -- NNN-SUNA
