SUDANESE PRESIDENT BACK HOME AFTER VISIT TO UAE
KHARTOUM, -- Sudanese President Omer Al-Bashir has returned to Khartoum after a visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) this week.
The president, who was accompanied on the visit by a number of Cabinet ministers and senior government officials, had held discussions with senior UAE officials on ways of enhancing further the distinguished relations between the two nations.
President Al-Bashir was received upon his arrival at Khartoum Airport Thursday by First Vice-President Lieutenant-General Bakri Hassan Salih, Cabinet ministers and senior government officials.
In a media statement issued at Khartoum Airport, Information Minister Ahmed Bilal Osman said President Al-Bashir held a series of meetings in the UAE with the UAE Crown Prince and Deputy General Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, and discussed with him progress of the distinguished relations between the two countries.
He added that the President of the UAE, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, had given a directive for increased UAE investments in Sudan and on establishing joint projects.
Dr. Bilal said President Al-Bashir welcomed UAE investments in Sudan to boost the continuous co-operation between the two countries.
He added that the President's visit to the UAE came in the context of the co-operation between Sudan and the Gulf countries.
