Sudanese State Minister at the Ministry of Animal Resources Dr. Jalaluddin Rabih has held talks here with a delegation of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) led by its Country Representative in Sudan, Dr. Mohamed El Sayid Abdel Mo'umin, on prospects for co operation prospects between the organization and the ministry for the development of the fisheries sector and fish farming in Sudan's Red Sea State.
Dr. Rabih welcomed during his meeting here Monday with the UNIDO delegation the partnership with the UNIDO, stressing that the fisheries sector was a promising sector and represented an alternative source of meat and supported the national economy.
He pointed out that the fisheries sector also provided job opportunities for students and university graduates, pointing out that the General Fisheries Department has been upgraded to a public corporation in view of the importance of this sector to reach the desired goals.
The head of the UNIDO delegation commended on the smart partnership between the Ministry and UNIDO, and pledged to provide all the support required for this project. He added that UNIDO looked forward to further partnership with the Ministry as Sudan enjoyed tremendous resources to development its fisheries sector, which required more effort to be exerted to enable it to support the national economy.
