Sudan Seeks to Enhance Economic Ties with Iran


Khartoum: The Undersecretary of Planning at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Mohamed Bashar, has expressed Sudan’s determination to strengthen and expand its economic cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran. This development comes as both nations aim to explore broader horizons in their bilateral relations.



According to Sudan News Agency, a joint meeting took place with an Iranian delegation led by the Assistant Minister of Economy and Finance, Abu Al-Fadil Kodi. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in key sectors to bolster bilateral relations and achieve mutual benefits for both countries. The meeting concluded with an agreement to draft memoranda of understanding to outline the areas of joint collaboration.



The meeting witnessed participation from various Sudanese ministries, including Agriculture, Defense, Trade, Animal Resources, and Minerals, alongside Industry and Investment and International Cooperation. Additionally, representatives from the Central Bank of Sudan and Omdurman National Bank were present to facilitate the discussions.
