Sudan Regains Its Arab Football Association Executive Committee Membership


Khartoum: Sudan has regained its membership in the Executive Committee of the Arab Football Association through the President of the Sudanese Football Association, Dr. Mutasim Jaafar Sir Al-Khatim, who reclaimed the seat by acclamation for the Africa region during the General Assembly of the Arab Football Association held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Monday, September 15, 2025.



According to Sudan News Agency, Dr. Mutasim Jaafar received congratulations and well-wishes from member associations, who praised the Sudanese Football Association for its efforts toward Sudanese football and the national teams despite the ongoing war in Sudan. They noted that the Sudanese association had succeeded, under extremely difficult circumstances, in maintaining its regional, continental, and international presence.



For his part, Dr. Mutasim Jaafar considered his election to the Executive Committee of the Arab Football Association a victory for all Sudanese talents and professionals. He stressed that the achievement came at the right time, reaffirming that Sudanese, despite the challenges of war and blockade, remain present, respected, appreciated, and trusted by voters and national associations.



Dr. Mutasim Jaafar dedicated his victory to the Sudanese people, Spokespersons, the Sudanese football family, his colleagues on the Board of Directors of the Sudanese Football Association, and to President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan.
