SUDAN KEEN TO SUPPORT SECURITY, STABILITY OF CENTRAL AFRICAN REP., SAYS PRESIDENT
KHARTOUM, March 28 President Omer Al-Bashir has affirmed that Sudan is keen to support security, stability and development in the Central African Republic (CAR) and appreciating the historic relations and the co-operation between the two countries,
The president said this when he received here Sunday the visiting CAR President-elect Faustin-ArchangeTouadera, according to a statement issued by Sudanese Foreign Minister, Professor Ibrahim Ghandour, after the meeting.
The president said the security, stability and development of the CAR was closely linked to security, stability and development in Sudan and affirmed that Sudan would work to support the CAR in these areas.
Prof. Ghandour said the CAR president-eect had told President al-Bashir that he decided to visit Sudan even before taking his oath of office this Wednesday because of the strong ties between the two countries, which have signed bilateral security, political, economic and social co-operation agreements.
The foreign minister said the CAR president-elect had called for Sudan's support for his programmes and that a high-level Sudanese delegation would participate in the inauguration of the new president.
