SUDAN KEEN TO ENHANCE ECONOMIC TIES WITH ETHIOPIA, SAYS VEEP
KHARTOUM, — Sudanese Vice-President Hassabo Mohammed Abdul-Rahman has re-affirmed that Sudan is keen to boost economic relations with Ethiopia in order to reach economic integration.
He made the remark here Wednesday when he and the visiting Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister, Demeke Mekonnen Hassen, were co-chairing the closing session of the Joint Sudanese-Ethiopian High Economic Committee in Port Sudan.
The Vice-President also announced the opening of Ethiopian Bank in Khartoum and offices for Sudanese banks in Ethiopia to ease the trade between the two countries.
Hassabo gave a directive for allocating an area at the Port Sudan port for land-locked Ethiopia’s exports and imports, referring to agreement to link the two countries by roads and railways.
