Street battles in Sudan capital as Eid ceasefire calls ignored

In tonight’s edition, air strikes and firing continue in Sudan’s capital, even after the army declares a three-day truce as residents hoping to celebrate Eid al-Fitr are fleeing Khartoum instead. Also, five humanitarian workers have now been killed in a nation highly dependent on food aid.

And five of the seven magistrates assigned to investigate last years coup in Guinea-Bissau have been suspended: they say the case is not within their jurisprudence.
