The Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of Somalia, Abd al-Rahman Adala, said Wednesday that the national army killed 30 members of the al-Shabaab militia linked to al-Qaeda in the “Eil Qara” area. Adala said in a statement to the Somali News Agency: “30 militants from the Kharijite militias were eliminated early this morning, Wednesday, and the armed forces were able to destroy the stronghold of terrorist cells there,” adding that the army confiscated weapons and military equipment in their possession.
