S.SUDANESE FM SAYS RELATIONS WITH ETHIOPIA EXCELLENT
ADDIS ABABA, South Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs Deng Alor said the relationship between Ethiopia and his country is excellent.
The Minister told ENA that the rumour that the relationship between South Sudan and Ethiopia are strained is not true.
Rumours erupted recently that the relationship between the two countries strained following President Salva Kiir's visit to Egypt.
Some media outlets reported that South Sudan and Egypt had signed an agreement that harms the interests of Ethiopia and ties with Ethiopia and South Sudan strained following the visit.
He said "the relation between Ethiopia and South Sudan is excellent. You know that was just rumour characteristic."
"I assure you the relations between Ethiopia and south Sudan is very fruitful. The rumour that was carried by the video not true," he said.
South Sudanese officials have been denying rumours regarding the strained relationship with Ethiopia, including South Sudanese Ambassador to Ethiopia, James Pita Morga.
During his discussion with Ethiopian Foreign State Minister last week, the Ambassador reaffirmed his country's commitment to forge relations with Ethiopia.
