N. Bahr el Ghazal health ministry distributes medical supplies

The ministry of health in South Sudan’s Northern Bahr el Ghazal State is disseminating medical consignments donated by the national ministry to the state counties and municipalities.

The state health minister Dau Riiny Lual told Radio Tamazuj on Monday that this is part of a regular dispatch of medical supplies by the national government.

“It is very common because consignments are donated by the national health ministry after every three months and are distributed. It is a routine activity and has been there before I came to the office,” he revealed.

According to the minister, the new medical consignments are meant for three-month use before others are dispatched.

Aweil East County Health Director, Dr. Riing Yak, confirmed to Radio Tamazuj on Monday that they received medical supplies but are not enough for the population.

He said they received supplies from the government three months ago.

“We received the medical consignment on Monday last week and we are now allocating the medicines to the county health centers,” Dr. Yak confirmed. “It is not enough but it is better than nothing, it works.”

Aweil Center County Commissioner Peter Natale also confirmed that they received their share of the supplies adding that the consignment came in good time.

“The medicines arrived yesterday (Sunday) from the State capital, Aweil to Aroyo, Aweil Center and by today (Monday) they will be disbursed to county hospitals,” said Natale.
