Ministries of Higher Education and Industry underline state's direction to support energy research…

Khartoum, March 14 (SUNA) - The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Sumaya Abu Kashwa has stressed the country's trend towards clean energy policies and technologies as well as the development of its capacity to increase Sudan's share of this energy.
She praised the National Energy Research Center (NERC), which has been working to activate and increase the use of renewable energy and its efficiency in the country by participating in many local and regional projects and initiatives to spread and support the implementation of the low-cost renewable energy policies, technologies and strategies.
This came during her visit to the National Center for Energy Research in Soba, south of Khartoum accompanying by the State Minister at the Ministry of Industry Dr. Abdo Dawd Sulieman and a number of the of officials of the Ministry of Industry. The minister stressed the importance of coordination between the two ministries to achieve the national project for continuous industrial development.
Dr. Sumaya said that the Center has been expanding the use of renewable energy in the country as an alternative to traditional sources in support of sustainable industrial development and the dissemination and promotion of its technologies to encourage the private and public sectors, stressing her ministry's commitment to activate the partnership with the Federal Ministry of Industry to follow up the needs of the National Center for Energy Research in research and studies to develop capabilities and technical assistance.
For his part, the State Minister at the Ministry of Industry pointed out to the importance of the National Center for Energy Research, stressing the support and implementation of small and medium enterprises that achieve the objectives of the economic development.
He emphasized that the partnership between the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research would achieve several objectives and gains as it works to provide qualified human resources and benefit from laboratories in the development of industry, announcing his ministry's adoption to all scientific innovations of the National Center for Energy Research and introduce them to the private sector.
