The group then proceeded to Shendi to observe firsthand the conditions of the Eastern Al-Gezira IDPs, who have been forced to flee their homes following the RSF militia’s attacks on several towns and villages in East Al-Jazeera.

During their visit to Shendi, the delegation is expected to launch a humanitarian aid package comprisin
g flour, food baskets, and shelter materials. They will also evaluate ongoing efforts aimed at alleviating the hardships faced by the displaced citizens. The Wali briefed the delegation on the state’s humanitarian situation, highlighting the areas with significant numbers of displaced persons and commending the efforts of the Humanitarian Aid Commission and associated committees in managing the crisis.
