Khartoum: The Governor of Darfur Region, Minni Arko Minawi, has expressed strong condemnation over what he describes as a “human crime” committed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in the Sabreen Market area of Omdurman. In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Minawi reported that the attack, which took place on Saturday, resulted in the deaths of more than 60 unarmed citizens.
According to Sudan News Agency, Minawi highlighted the ongoing threat faced by citizens due to systematic artillery shelling targeted at neighborhoods, markets, and hospitals across the country. This relentless assault, he emphasized, endangers civilian lives and exacerbates their suffering. Despite the severity of these attacks, Minawi praised the resilience of the people of Omdurman and El-Fashir, noting their determination to endure and their unwavering hope amidst adversity. He remarked that their steadfastness is viewed as a triumph, contributing to the ongoing successes of the armed forces in the “war of dignity.”
