The Commercial Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Bucharest (KOTRA) informs us that on April 18-19 it will organise the Korea-Romania Business Partnership 2016 Forum where the topic of Romanian-Korean cooperation in the domain of projects with European and international financing will be tackled.
The event is occasioned by the visit of Mr. Tae Hee Woo, Republic of Korea’s Deputy Economy Minister, on April 17-19.
The high-level South Korean official will meet his Romanian counterpart and other Romanian officials.
The works of the Forum, which will start at 10 a.m. at the JW Marriott Grand Hotel’s Grand Ballroom, will be attended by Tae Hee WOO, Republic of Korea’s Deputy Economy Minister, Vlad VASILIU, Secretary of State within the Romanian Economy Ministry, Jung Gwan KIM, Vice President of the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) and by representatives of the Romanian European Funds Ministry and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
The agenda will also include presentations of important Romanian companies from the following domains: IT, constructions, environment consultancy, being followed by B2B meetings between the participating South Korean and Romanian companies.
Romanian-South Korean economic relations have grown in recent years. In 2015, South Korea was Romania’s 25th largest export market and the 21st largest source of imports. The trade volume stood at EUR 900 M (EUR 414.3 M in exports and EUR 483 M in imports). South Korea is Romania’s second largest trade partner in Asia, after China.
The Commercial Section of the Republic of Korea in Bucharest (KOTRA) functions as a South Korean government agency whose main goal is the promotion of trade and investments, being under the authority of the Republic of Korea’s Economy Ministry. The agency’s Bucharest branch was established in 1990, offering marketing assistance and promoting South Korean investments in Romania.
