Union of Arab Chambers (UAC) and Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC) on Wednesday signed an agreement at the Arab League headquarters, in the presence of its Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, to announce organization of the 20th conference of Arab business owners and investors, in Jordan next October 18. In its new edition, the two-day conference will focus on defining modern investment climate, policies, incentives and legislation in Jordan and the Arab countries to attract investments. Speaking at a joint presser held at Arab League headquarters in Cairo with JCC President, Khalil Haj Tawfiq, UAC Secretary-General, Khaled Hanafi, said Jordan and the Arab countries enjoy “key” ingredients to attract “huge” investment projects in various sectors, primarily technological, energy, agriculture, renewable energy, the tourism sectors and other vital strategic fields. For his part, Haj Tawfiq said the event, which will see participation of senior Arab businesspeopel and economic thinkers, has a “prominent” role in producing visions and projects that serve pan-Arab goals in supporting and strengthening joint trade and economic ties and creating an economic trade bloc, which has become ” more urgent than ever.” During the conference, he noted participants are looking forward to creating an Arab economic unity, in light of presence of pan-Arab integration ingredients.
