Jabir Meets UNICEF and Red Cross to Address Water Issues in Khartoum


Khartoum: Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lt. Gen. Engineer Ibrahim Jabir, met with representatives of UNICEF and the Red Cross to discuss water issues.



According to Sudan News Agency, Sheldon, UNICEF Director, explained in a press statement that the meeting centered on UNICEF’s efforts to support drinking water stations and rehabilitate water networks. These initiatives aim to facilitate the return of Khartoum citizens displaced by the war.



He highlighted that UNICEF and the Red Cross are collaborating on water-related issues, working alongside other agencies, organizations, and partners to ensure the water supply reaches those in need.



Dorsa Nazmi, head of the Red Cross, expressed appreciation for the meeting with the TSC member. She noted that the Red Cross is partnering with UNICEF to address the shortage of clean water affecting citizens. Additionally, she stated the organization’s readiness to collaborate with government institutions and other partners to establish drinking water networks and stations in Khartoum State.
