Iran acts based on dignity, wisdom, prudence: EC chairman
He made the remarks in a meeting with the Slovenian President Borut Pahor on Tuesday.
Iran has been under sanctions and targeted by tough positions of the US officials since the beginning of 1979 Revolution, the official said.
The JCPOA is an international agreement, he said, adding that the US president-elect Donald Trump has also threatened to pull the US out of NATO, World Trade Organization and the Paris Agreement.
He referred to protests in California and other US states against Trump and said US people expect difficult days with him in power.
Speaking about Iran-US relations, the cleric said the US government should give up bullying of Iran.
He referred to US hostility towards Iran from the beginning of the Revolution in Iran and said Washington was not bound to its obligations towards agreements with Iran which had been inked before the Revolution.
US had a role in plotting the Nojeh coup and other armed terrorist actions against Iranian establishment after the Revolution, Rafsanjani said.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he explained the democracy in Iran and said Islam has the potential to govern the society.
During the meeting, the Slovenian president referred to re-opening of his country’s embassy in Tehran and said Slovenia is committed to boost ties with Iran.
The official called for development of all-out ties between Iran and Slovenia.
