Hot weather forecast for today, heatwave to deepen Saturday

Most areas of the Kingdom on Friday will see a slight rise in temperatures as the hot air mass is approaching, and relatively hot weather will prevail in mountain heights, while hot weather will prevail in the rest of the regions, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD). The forecast also indicated the likelihood of the presence of high-altitude cloud cover and intermittent moderate winds, primarily shifting between northeasterly and northwesterly directions. The JMD has issued advisories apprising the populace of the potential hazards associated with direct sun exposure, particularly during the zenith hours. On Saturday, Jordan is poised to witness a progressive rise in temperatures, reaching levels approximately 7-9 degrees Celsius above the typical seasonal averages for this period. This surge in temperature is expected to translate to hot conditions in high mountainous areas, while other regions are projected to experience exceptionally high temperatures. On Sunday, the weather pattern is expected to maintain scorching temperatures in high mountainous areas and exceedingly high temperatures in other regions. Today’s peak temperatures will be between 35 and 33 degrees Celsius in Amman and various highlands throughout the Kingdom, with lows of 22C or even 20C in the southern highlands at night. The Gulf city of Aqaba will have scorching weather, with highs of 41C and lows of 28C.
