HAJJ HASSAN DISCUSSES WITH IRAQI PRIME MINISTER MEANS TO BOLSTER AGRICULTURAL RELATIONS


Caretaker Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Abbas Hajj Hassan, currently in Iraq, visited Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia’ Al Sudani, accompanied by the Chairman of the Parliamentary Agriculture Committee, MP Ayoub Hmayed, and the Lebanese Ambassador to Iraq, Ali Al-Habhab, in the presence of Iraqi Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Abbas Jabr al-Maliki.

During the meeting, Premier Al-Sudani stressed ‘Iraq’s openness to strengthening its relations with Lebanon in all fields, especially the economic, agricultural and investment ones,’ pointing out that ‘there are many investment opportunities that can achieve mutual benefit.’

Sudani also underlined ‘the importance of tackling the effects of environmental changes and combating desertification that our region suffers from, which requires developing joint strategies in order to eliminate the negative effects of climate change.”

Minister Hajj Hassan, in turn, briefed the Iraqi Premier on the details of the memorandum of understanding that was signed recently with Al-M
aliki in Beirut, stressing the importance of strengthening and developing the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries from the agriculutral domains to all sectors.
