Golden Euro Casino moves to Antigua

Over a decade after US sanctions nearly crippled Antigua’s online gaming industry, the country has reportedly attracted another online casino.

The popular online Golden Euro Casino, designed especially for European players, has moved its gaming license to Antigua.

Manager Robert Miller says Antigua is a well-known and reputable jurisdiction, and the license shows transparency in operations and provides security of the gaming software.

A release from the company says Golden Euro Casino is now regulated by the Antigua Gaming Commission, an official licensing and regulating authority for gaming activity that has been operating since 1999.

In 2003, Antigua and Barbuda took the US to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) after it stopped its citizens from accessing Internet gaming services based in Antigua.

The WTO ruled in Antigua and Barbuda’s favour, but the US has never honoured the ruling, and a settlement has yet to be reached despite years of negotiations.
