Khartoum: The Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement describing the Abu Dhabi regime’s response to Sudan’s decision to sever diplomatic ties as “Ridiculously Miserable” and as showing “a surprising disregard for international laws and norms governing diplomatic relations between states.” The Ministry emphasized that the response is also an insult to the Sudanese people, who have a rich history and have significantly contributed to supporting their regional allies.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Ministry’s statement criticized the Abu Dhabi regime for its attempts to interfere in Sudanese affairs, describing such actions as frenzied and crude. The statement accused the Abu Dhabi regime of displaying a deep-seated contradiction by advocating virtues it does not practice.
The Ministry further alleged that the Abu Dhabi regime is escalating state terrorism against Sudan, directly targeting civilians and infrastructure with drones and lethal weapons. This, the statement claimed, follows a failed proxy war conducted by hired militia. Despite these actions, the statement acknowledged past aid from the UAE, while highlighting the heavy toll on Sudan’s infrastructure, citizen property, and loss of innocent lives.
Additionally, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the Abu Dhabi regime’s response ignores Sudan’s historical role in helping establish the UAE. From its early projects in the late 1960s to its independence, Sudanese expertise was crucial in building the UAE’s state systems, particularly in the armed forces, administration, and education.
