Khartoum: Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Ali Yousuf Ahmed Al-Sharif received the Russian Ambassador to Sudan, Andrea Chernobyl, in his office on Thursday. The meeting was also attended by the Director General of the European and American Directorate, Ambassador Osman Abu Fatima Adam. During the meeting, Dr. Al-Sharif expressed his deep appreciation for Russia’s supportive position towards Sudan in the Security Council, highlighting it as a model stance that has garnered the satisfaction of both the government and the people of Sudan.
According to Sudan News Agency, Dr. Al-Sharif also conveyed his aspiration to enhance bilateral cooperation between Sudan and Russia across various sectors. He emphasized the importance of strengthening ties in all fields to further mutual interests.
In response, Russian Ambassador Andrea Chernobyl expressed gratitude to the Minister for the immediate reception following his appointment. He highlighted the longstanding relationship between the two nations and advocated for the
advancement of their relations into a strategic partnership. Chernobyl emphasized the potential for collaboration in agriculture, energy, and minerals, based on the resources and expertise both countries possess, aiming to maximize mutual benefits.
