Tehran: Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Dr. Gibril Ibrahim met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in the presence of Sudan’s Ambassador to Iran Dr. Abdul-Aziz Hassan Salih. The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral relations and addressing regional issues.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Iranian Foreign Minister expressed his enthusiasm for strengthening ties between Iran and Sudan. He also conveyed his concerns about the ongoing conflict in Sudan while commending the recent achievements of the Sudanese Armed Forces. He expressed hope for a swift resolution to the conflict, restoring peace and stability in Sudan. Iran reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Sudan during these challenging times.
Dr. Gibril Ibrahim reciprocated by expressing gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality extended to him by the Iranian officials. He provided an update on the situation in Sudan and emphasized the importance of enhanced cooperation and coordination between the two nations across vari
ous sectors.
The discussions led to several agreements aimed at bolstering collaboration in political, economic, commercial, and media domains. Both countries agreed to convene joint ministerial and political consultation committees soon. Plans were also made to facilitate visits by technical experts from both nations, establish trade centers in Tehran and Sudan, and create the Sudanese-Iranian Holding Company to strengthen economic ties.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties underscored the necessity for coordinated efforts in regional and international platforms, sharing perspectives on global issues of mutual interest.
