EU Humanitarian Aid

The European Commission's Humanitarian aid and Civil Protection department (ECHO) ensures rapid and effective delivery of EU relief assistance when disaster strikes throughout the world. This stockshot illustrates examples of EU aid aimed to save and preserve life, prevent and alleviate human suffering and safeguard the integrity and dignity of populations affected by natural disasters and man-made crises. It features footage on humanitarian relief for refugees and internally displaced persons fleeing armed conflict in Ukraine, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. It also has examples of EU aid to fight epidemics such as Ebola and EU emergency assistance after natural disasters, such as the devastating Nepal earthquake.
