ADDIS ABABA, April 5 (NNN-SUNA) -- Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn has announced that he will visit Sudan shortly in response to an invitation from Sudanese President Marshal Omer Al-Bashir who is making a three-day State visit to the neighbouring country.

At a joint media conference held after their discussions in Addis Ababa Tuesday, President Al-Bashir expressed pleasure over the level of deeply-rooted relations between Sudan and Ethiopia.

The president, who arrived in the country earlier Tuesday, referred to the similarities between the Sudanese and Ethiopian peoples in terms of culture and art aspects and their general temperaments.

He stressed that there were no boundaries for the political, economic, trade, cultural, social and security relations between Sudan and Ethiopia.

President al-Bahir pointed to the co-operation between Sudan and Ethiopia in electric power development, and pointed to the agreements signed by the two countries in the development of sea ports and the, petroleum, security, police and military sectors.

He said that work was underway to implement the electricity transmission linkages between Khartoum and the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam now under construction on River Nile. -- NNN-SUNA
