Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn arrived in Khartoum Tuesday to begin a three-day official visit to Sudan.

The prime minister, who is in Sudan at the invitation of Omar al-Basher, was welcomed on arrival at Khartoum airport by the Sudanese leader. His visit is to return a visit to Ethiopia by President al-Basher last April.

During his visit to Ethiopia, President al-Basher and Hailemariam had conferred on regional issues and the creation of a single economic community among Horn of African countries, including Eritrea.

The Premier will discuss regional and international issues with President Al Basher. The two leaders are also expected to discuss matters related to air transportation, roads, railways, ports, electricity supply, and integration of other infrastructure, it was indicated.

Previously, the two neighbouring nations had signed bilateral co-operation agreements on peace and security, trade and economic co-operation, and forestry development and preservation.

Earlier in Addis Ababa on Monday, Hailemariam told the visiting Yemeni Deputy Prime Minister, Abdul-Malik Al-Mekhlafi, that Ethiopia would continue to support efforts to bring about a return to stability in the Gulf nation. Ethiopia would exert maximum efforts to bring the warring parties into dialogue, he said.

The Prime Minister affirmed that Ethiopia would continue to work at continental and international levels for the peaceful resolution of the Yemen crisis, according to Ambassador Birhane GebreChirstos, the Prime Minister's Special Envoy.
