ETBIOPIA RE-AFFIRMS COMMIT TO SUPPORT EFFORTS FOR PEACE IN SOUTH SUDAN
ADDIS ABABA, -- Ethiopian Foreign Affairs Minster Dr. Tedros Adhanom ha re-affirmed the country's continued commitment to support efforts to achieve peace and stability in South Sudan.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here Tuesday said Tedros received the Chairperson of the Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (JEMEC) for South Sudan's peace process, Festus Mogae, here Monday.
The Minister and Mogae exchanged views on current developments relating to the Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan.
"I would like to re-affirm my government's continued engagement to realize peace to our neighbour, South Sudan, and particularly support the full operationalization and implementation of the August 2015 Agreement," Dr. Tedros said during the discussions.
Mogae commended the Government of Ethiopia for its efforts aimed at ensuring peace and stability in South Sudan.
