Dr. Gebreil Calls for Unifying the Internal Front to Tackle Sudan’s Challenges.

Port Sudan: Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Gebreil Ibrahim, who also leads the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM), has urged the unification of Sudan’s internal front to address the pressing challenges facing the nation.

According to Sudan News Agency, Dr. Ibrahim emphasized the importance of societal peace as a significant challenge for Sudan while speaking at the ‘The Role of Scholars in Today’s Ordeal and Future Grant’ conference held at the Rabwa Hotel Hall in Portsudan. He highlighted the difficulties of building community unity, which he described as both challenging and extremely important. Dr. Ibrahim urged the scholars to actively combat hate speech and work tirelessly to bridge societal divides.

The Minister further remarked that the Sudan Scholars Association’s conference comes at a critical juncture in Sudan’s history. The country, he noted, is under threat from a major conspiracy aimed at its division, disintegration, and the erasure of its religious identity through the propag
ation of the Abrahamic project and the control of its coasts and resources. Dr. Ibrahim warned that these threats would persist even if current rebellions were quelled.

Dr. Ibrahim underscored the state’s commitment to supporting the Sudan Scholars Association in its mission to mend the social fabric and foster national unity.
