Darfur Experts Team Commences Sudan Visit to Monitor Resolution 1591 Implementation.


Khartoum: The Darfur Experts Team, specializing in Resolution 1591, is set to begin a three-day visit to Sudan next Sunday. The delegation aims to monitor the resolution’s implementation and is scheduled to meet with relevant officials during their stay.

According to Sudan News Agency, a government source emphasized the significance of this visit amidst the current developments in the country. Recent United Nations expert reports have highlighted the involvement of certain countries in providing weapons and equipment to the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia. The reports specifically mention the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Chad. In addition, the Red Cross Organization has accused the UAE of misusing its logo for military purposes at Um-Jaras Hospital, as supported by reliable press reports and satellite imagery.
