Doha: Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council, emphasized that the overt and blatant Israeli attack on the Qatari capital is a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of a sister Arab state, international law, and United Nations charters.
According to Union of OIC News Agencies, Al-Burhan, in his speech at the emergency Arab-Islamic summit in Doha today, stated, “This aggression does not only affect Qatar, but also sends a disturbing message to the entire world.” He highlighted that it undermines sincere efforts to reach a settlement that would end the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza and weakens the chances of success for any efforts to achieve calm.
He further stressed that the only way to achieve just and lasting peace in the Middle East is through the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. Al-Burhan expressed appreciation for the State of Qatar’s honorable stances in supporting just causes, foremost among them the Palestinian cause, and its humanitarian and political support for the Palestinian people.
