Tunis: The Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan (CBoS), Burai Al-Sadig, is set to chair the 49th ordinary session of the Board of Governors of Arab Central Banks and Monetary Institutions. The event will take place on September 17-18, 2025, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Tunis.
According to Sudan News Agency, the meetings are held under the patronage of His Excellency President of the Republic of Tunisia, Kais Saied, and are organized by the Arab Monetary Fund in cooperation with the Central Bank of Tunisia. The event will gather governors of Arab central banks and monetary institutions, alongside representatives of regional and international financial institutions. This session is viewed as a significant coordination platform for monetary and financial policies in the Arab region.
Chaired by the Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan, the meetings will tackle strategic issues such as enhancing central banks’ responses to pressures from trade wars, strengthening cybersecurity resilience in the financial sector, and following up on the launch of the region-wide instant payments initiative. Additionally, discussions will include reviewing financial stability reports, the 2025 Joint Arab Economic Report, and action plans of Arab task forces specialized in banking supervision, financial inclusion, and modern financial technologies.
