Manama: The Kingdom of Bahrain welcomes the Quartet statement on supporting a peaceful solution in the Republic of Sudan. The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the joint statement issued by the Quartet regarding support for a peaceful solution in the Republic of Sudan, which preserves the country’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, and enhances regional peace, security, and stability.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the Ministry affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s support and appreciation for the efforts of the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the United States of America to end the ongoing war in Sudan. It called on the parties to the conflict to establish a humanitarian truce, facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid, protect civilians and civilian infrastructure, and negotiate in accordance with the terms of reference of the “Jeddah Declaration” and relevant international resolutions and conventions. This approach is seen as a way to meet the aspirations of Sudan’s people for peace, stability, and sustainable prosperity.
