Doha: Qatar announced on Saturday that it will host a summit involving Arab and Muslim leaders to condemn Israel’s recent attack on Hamas officials in Doha and to express solidarity with Qatar. The meeting, scheduled for Monday, aims to address “a draft resolution on the Israeli attack on the State of Qatar,” which will be formulated during a ministerial meeting on Sunday, according to foreign ministry spokesman Majed al Ansari.
According to TRTworld.com, the summit signifies a strong display of Arab and Islamic unity with Qatar in response to what is described as Israel’s “cowardly aggression” and a unanimous rejection of Israel’s “state terrorism.” The official QNA news agency quoted al Ansari regarding the intentions behind the meeting.
The recent attack by Israel involved strikes on a building in Doha, resulting in the deaths of five Hamas members and a Qatari security officer. The incident has provoked widespread international criticism, including from Gulf countries that are allies of the United States, Israel’s primary supporter.
Qatar is actively involved in mediation efforts in the Gaza conflict, working alongside the United States and Egypt. Analysts suggest that the upcoming summit aims to convey a definitive message to Israel regarding the collective stance of the Arab and Muslim world.
