El-Fashir: Despite ongoing United Nations resolutions, the Al-Dagalo militia has sustained its aggressive campaign against civilians in El-Fashir, resulting in 33 casualties. Reports indicate that the militia launched a barrage of heavy howitzer and mortar shells across the city’s neighborhoods, leading to the deaths of 23 civilians and injuring 10 others, who are now receiving medical treatment.
According to Sudan News Agency, the 6th Infantry Division announced that the armed forces successfully intercepted a segment of the rebel militia attempting to escape through Tabaldiya village, north of El-Fashir. The ensuing clashes led to numerous militia fatalities and the destruction of three four-wheel drive Land Cruisers. The remaining militia members retreated westward from El-Fashir.
The 6th Infantry Division reported a surge in militia defections along the El-Fashir frontlines on Tuesday due to sustained pressure from the armed forces and allied groups, including the police, security forces, mobilized individuals, and popular resistance. These forces are actively dismantling militia hideouts.
Significant advances have been made by the armed forces on multiple frontlines, capturing strategic positions previously utilized by the militia for artillery attacks. The 6th Infantry Division highlighted the high morale among the forces and growing confidence in their ultimate victory.
In a briefing on its Facebook page, the 6th Infantry Division confirmed the fatalities and injuries resulting from the militia’s sporadic shelling. It refuted claims made by the militia about controlling 90% of El-Fashir, asserting instead that the militia has not secured even 9% of the city. The division emphasized that circulating videos are outdated and not representative of El-Fashir, urging citizens to remain in the city and dismiss false rumors.
The 6th Infantry Division assured residents of El-Fashir that the forces have complete control over the situation, operating efficiently to maintain the city’s strength and promising that victory is within reach.
