Jeddah: Minister of Culture and Information and Government Spokesperson Khalid Ali Al-Aiser has handed over five projects to the Director General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, Dr. Salim bin Mohammed Al-Malik, for the rehabilitation of Sudanese cultural institutions.
According to Sudan News Agency, this development occurred during a meeting on the sidelines of the 13th Conference of the Ministries of Culture in the Islamic World, which commenced its activities on Wednesday in Jeddah. The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of Information at the Ministry and focused on issues concerning cultural affairs, including the destruction of cultural facilities’ infrastructure and superstructure due to the ongoing militia war.
Additionally, ISESCO has committed to training a number of Sudanese individuals in scientific methods for recovering plundered antiquities, a vital step in preserving Sudan’s cultural heritage amidst challenging circumstances.
