Khartoum: Minister of Culture and Information and government spokesman Khalid Ali Al-Aiser has affirmed the state’s keenness to complete the steps of electronic payment efforts and achieve financial inclusion, emphasizing the importance of adopting digital technologies to enhance financial services for citizens.
According to Sudan News Agency, Al-Aiser highlighted these points during the opening session of the “Electronic Payment: A Step Towards Digital Transformation and Financial Inclusion” workshop. This event, organized by the Shumous Media Center in partnership with SUNA, took place on Thursday evening. Al-Aiser also noted that the Ministry of Culture and Information would continue to play a pivotal role in raising awareness among citizens regarding these efforts.
Al-Aiser regarded the government’s currency replacement project as one of the most successful initiatives, underscoring the vision of the currency replacement committee and the critical role of digital technologies in improving financial services.
The workshop featured the presentation of three working papers. The first, titled ‘Unifying the Electronic Payment Platform, Steps of Digital Transformation and Financial Inclusion,’ was presented by Dr. Asjad Yahya Al-Kazim. The second paper, ‘Technology Redefines the Economy: Where Do We Stand?’ was presented by Dr. Khalid Al-Tijani. The third paper focused on ‘The Role of Communications Infrastructure and Development in Supporting Financial Inclusion and Promoting Electronic Payment.’
